Biography


JOSEPH MAWLE is best known for his role as Benjen Stark in HBO’s critically-acclaimed series Game of Thrones. His acting prowess garnered him a BAFTA TV Award nomination for his compelling performance alongside Eddie Redmayne and Matthew Goode in Birdsong. Joseph also starred in MotherFatherSon, with Richard Gere, and the BBC remake of Women in Love, opposite Rosamund Pike.

In film, Joseph has left his mark with roles in In The Heart of The Sea, Kill Your Friends, and Half of a Yellow Sun, where he starred alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor. More recently, Joseph starred as Adar in Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for Amazon, and he is set to grace our screens in Terrence Malick's upcoming project, The Way of the Wind.

Joseph has also lent his vocal talents to the Norse Mythology-inspired video game Immortal: Unchained, where he brought the character of Cathal to life.
